We had to remove the material at the rear of the house. I saw that it is not good, plus there are a lot of wood to cut, I thought I should invest in getting the job cheaply-made, had no "good" and "quality, because there is no actual use of such saws. So I spent $ 45 and bought this thinking is well! ... If it makes you want to do, and then thrown away or burned, there is no great loss. Man, I saw a just cut through Post a job 4inch 4 inch, nails, metal accessories, and more than anything else. hard and was used continuously for several hours without curtains, delaying, or even overheating. Blade remains strong, easy to learn a move that cuts through everything quickly and well, and really just praise to view. I will definitely buy another - no doubt.

I can't believe I was cutting by hand until now!!!
I love this little thing! I recently moved and had tons of shrubs in the yard that hadn't been trimmed in years. That means...big, thick branches. I was using loppers/pruners, my my arms were getting tired and some of the stems were too thick to even cut that way. I tried a hatchet and saw, but that was hard, too. I didn't even know they made an item such as this, but just searched for "power hand saw" and here it was...my savior!! I have cut some really thick branches (like as big as my wrist) and even just sawed through tangles of forsythia shoots to try to find where the trunk was (it was REALLY overgrown!)
After reading some of the reviews, I was worried that I would have trouble with attaching the blade. I did read the directions for attachment first, which admittedly weren't helpful at all. I just looked into where the blade goes and tried to figure it out myself. I looked in a hole in the side and saw a square nut-like projection that matched a square hole on the saw. It was pretty clear those two pieces went together! There is also a slot where the blade pivots upward into. I was trying to slip the blade in the slot AND the square notch simultaneously. Wrong! Didn't work! I then didn't know what to do and just put the square hole on the square peg so the blade was folded down at like a right angle (like the directions show for removal, that illustration was the most helpful.) When I lifted it up it went right into the slot. Not hard at all, but tricky when it is the first time figuring it out. Just fool around with it a little, look at the pictures, and you will get it. It took me about 3 minutes to figure it out. Make sure you leave the blade protector on because you need to push it right where the teeth are.
It is just an awesome tool. The directions do note that you should move it back and forth like a hand saw, and that technique does work well. I do get lazy though and sometimes just move it a little bit (or not at all!) Ha ha! It still cuts well. Sort of a cross between a Sawzall and an electric carving knife. This and an electric hedge trimmer can make your yard work sooooo much easier. Wish I would have had one earlier...I am never going to be without one now!

This product is PERFECT for me!!! Got the jobs done! I am a 48.5 year young woman, and I needed to trim a tree. I didn't want to call my regular professional tree-trimmer for just a couple of limbs. Once I used the Black & Decker Handsaw and saw how easy it was to use, I ended up trimming more than just a couple of limbs and branches -- three to four inches in diameter -- on other trees. And I used the Handsaw to make the branches smaller so they could fit into my garbage bins. I used gloves, as advised by another reviewer. Sure beats using a manual hand saw! I would still be sawing away and becoming exhausted in the process! The product also comes with a second blade for cutting metal, which I have not used, yet. I had no problems putting in the blade, as a few other reviewers mentioned; I was concerned about that when I placed my order. The written instructions and diagram explain how to put in the blade, about 30 seconds to a minute of reading, and then I put in the blade as instructed. Fortunately, it assembled easily in seconds and on my first try. True, it's not speedy like a chainsaw, but it's safe, relatively lightweight, and easy to use. It still does all the sawing for me, and it sure beats the manual way! It's much MUCH faster than the manual way and less strenuous/exhausting. My neighbor, who is an amazing Mr. Construction Guy, came over, saw it and used it. He commented it was a great buy (I didn't ask him for his opinion, and he's a super brutally honest, let-the-chips-fall-where-they-may type of person). I like the electric cord -- no need for gas or to recharge; always ready for use! Bottom line: this Black & Decker Handsaw is a safe, easy to use, and effective time saver (as well as a wallet saver for do-it-yourselfers), and it's enjoyable and fun! I'm looking forward to sawing something else!
